A TRIP TO THE BEACH IN APRIL

VIRGINIA BEACH APRIL 14, 2009 Last Sunday:
I was dreaming about taking a vacation, so i get out my 2 favorite things...a notebook and a pen....and I start figuring up how much it would cost just to go the beach for a couple of days. It wasn't that bad, about $400.00 round trip, but that included everything, gas, food, hotel, (souvenirs not included). I knew we never had the money for it, but thats why its called dreaming. I told my boyfriend about it, we both planned on going this summer when we had some money saved up. Well...
Tuesday night:
Shawn comes home and tells me that he thinks he sold his car (his work car) by accident. A guy told him i'll give you $1000.00 for that car, he said show me the money and you can have it......thinking he was joking.
Wednesday:
He delivered the car and got the money, and tells me to plan out everything for the vacation. I just about fell over. I usually don't plan anything, I can't stick to plans or appointments.
Spur of the moment for me...always!
Friday:
My son who is 14, has never seen the beach, he has just heard the news, "We're going to the beach, Really? he said, so excited. He's getting my 4 year old hyped up too....I tell them that we can't do or see whole lot while we're there because its only for 2 days, pretty much just to see the beach and do a little sight seeing. So here i am trying to pack everything, clean the house, trying to calm the kids down, threatening them if they didn't calm down we wasn't going.... whew! We finally leave around 7:00pm
Saturday:
3:00 am we arrive at Virginia Beach. we are so tired, wore completely out. we get in our hotel room and open the back door and ....there's the beach..... beautiful!, the sound of the waves crashing, sooooo calming, not a soul in sight.....perfect! I just can't believe we are here!!! i thought.
We get up around 9:00 and didn't stop all day!! we had walked everywhere!! so we get the bright idea to rent a 4-seater bike....oh my lord!!! i would have rather walked...my legs hurt so bad, i realized I am really out of shape. Shawn, (my bf), said, "i thought this was a vacation...i have worked harder today than i did all week!" Besides the walking, peddling and carrying my 4 year old half the way, It was really nice, we got to see a car show, play in the sand, fly kites, and wade in the FREEZING water, there were people actually swimming in that water, ooooh.... that water was sooo cold. It was non-stop all day.
Sunday:
We wake up around 7:00 am, we were planning on going back on the beach, to the aqarium and more sight seeing, but......my 4 year old couldn't even walk....her feet were swelled from all the walking on Saturday (poor thing..) i felt so sorry for her, but i wasn't about to carry her everywhere. So we leave and head straight for home. My son is upset of course, because we are going home, so i had to listen him whine about leaving and i had to hear her whine about her feet....they fought the whole ride home.....well the only time they didn't fight was when they were sleeping.....about 2 hours. they are 10 years apart you would think they were twins. she was touching him.... and he was looking at her ....."Mom, tell her to quit....."
"Mommy, i want that......"
I need a nice long bath!!!
I just couldn't believe that last Sunday i dreamed this up, and somehow we got the money unexpected, and this Sunday i have pictures of us at the beach. Over all we had a blast especially the kids. It actually pays to dream, some dreams do come true.
We are waiting until summer to go for a full week. Not planning, dreaming.

I ♥ the beach, especially when the trip is unexpected.

The power of prayer

We were taught, as kids, to pray for things the we want to see, have or what we want to turn out. So many prayers seem as though they go unanswered but God will only grant you what you see yourself worthy of. Imagination is a powerful thing. Everything we see that was built by man started in a mind first, a dream, or a desire.  God is our father. If I wanted to give my child something they longed for and they turned their head in shame as though they were not worthy of it, it would break my heart. How would I know they really needed it if they didn’t ask for it or seen themselves worthy of having it? Turn to your father, ask for forgiveness, not just because you have done wrong but ask for forgiveness that you feel the shame inside, the regret, the missed opportunities that you gave up. Ask for forgiveness that you never had faith that God was leading you all long and you ignored the blessings because someone told you that you weren’t worthy. Know your worth and give thanks t...

Everyone wants to be rich...Just another complaint session..ha ha

I was watching  " How'd you get so rich" and it got me thinking....ha ha..here I go again thinking.  I really don't think I would want to be rich...yeah maybe have a little extra money to play with, but to be a millionaire or billionaire...no!!  In order to be rich you would have to take money from someone else, like people  who are hard working, living paycheck to paycheck, or people paying for something they will never really own. The Lottery for instance...some people spend several dollars a week on the lottery in hopes to be rich, or just a few dollars richer...they (lottery) are making a killing off of that few dollars a week...The same goes for these gambling places...People spend their whole paychecks on a machine!!! They are not stupid!!...you can't get rich from those machines...but I'll guarantee that they are getting rich from your hard earned money!!! The $100-$200 pair of jeans...come on people don't tell me you spend that on jeans?? ...

I Miss Me!

It's been almost 6 years since I last wrote about anything.  So much has happened since then.  I love to write, not saying I'm a novelist, (one of my unrealistic goals), but to me, it's the same has having a conversation. I love to talk... about life, dreams, the unknown, how life works and why things happen or exist.  I really enjoy figuring out complex behaviors or solutions to ailments.  Long story short...I think I just enjoy learning and understanding.  Somewhere in the past, I left myself behind.  Who am I now? where did the old me go? why did I change? I would describe my inner self as caring, funny, creative, artist, crafty, fun, talkative, loved to dance, write, talk to anyone kind of woman.  (... that word alone makes me feel old...but 'girl' is too young and "lady" is too proper to describe me lol...Ugg) anyway... I was that person, not so much anymore. I tend to shy away from being outgoing to more reserved or "shadowed" is a better ...
