What's for dinner?

 UGH...the daily question, What's for dinner? I can't speak for everyone, but that is serious question. When I was a kid, we had real dinners. Dinners back then (80s & 90s) had a dining table, the main course, which consisted of some type of meat; soup, spaghetti, beans, casseroles, roast, ham, chicken, porkchops, meatloaf, steak or fish. Mom always made 3-4 side dishes: vegetables, mashed potatoes, greens or green beans, salad, macaroni or potato salad, fruit and some sort of dessert, cake, pudding or pie. we didn't have bags of chips, quick fix single serve meals, snack cakes or cases of pop... we didn't complain because we were being fed healthy meals. My mom fixed breakfast and dinner the same way, a variety of food. lunch was mostly a sandwich or something small, not a big meal. The thing that gets me thinking, she was a stay home mother yes, but she also took care of the gardens, canned our vegetables and tomatoes, milked the cow, made butter, took care of the...
